Burnley FC in the Community would like to celebrate highlight SPAR UK, who are celebrating their third year of being a part of our ‘All Onside Business Club’ through the brand’s association with James Hall & Co. Ltd.
Philippa Harrington, Marketing Manager at James Hall & Co. Ltd, said: ‘James Hall & Co. Ltd is a fifth-generation, family business that is based in Preston. We are one of Lancashire’s largest private employers, and we operate as SPAR UK’s primary retailer, wholesaler, and distributor for the North of England, serving a network of independent SPAR retailers and company-owned SPAR stores six days a week.
We also produce a lot of the food that we sell in our stores, and our family of brands include well-known names like Clayton Park Bakery, Fazila Foods, Ann Forshaw’s Alston Dairy, Cheeky Coffee, and Graham Eyes High Quality Butchers.
SPAR convenience stores have been at the heart of communities since the SPAR story began in the UK in the 1950s, and as a business, we have several company-owned stores in the Burnley, Pendle, and Rossendale area that local people have relied on for groceries and essentials for many years.
Our partnership with Burnley FC in the Community was established because we wanted a local charity partner that our customers recognised and resonated with. As we enter a third year as a partner with Burnley FC in the Community, it is more valuable than ever.
In addition to being All Onside partners, we have been proud to support Burnley FC in the Community events, and in these include the Max McCann foodbank donation drive, a school maths challenge at Turf Moor, and a North West football tournament held at the Prairie.
Recent company developments in this corner of Pennine Lancashire have seen one of Ann Forshaw’s Milk Shed vending machines arrive at SPAR Padiham Road in September 2024. Serving delicious milk and milkshakes, with flavours changing each week, it has been hugely popular with customers since launch, and it is open between 7am and 10.30pm every day.
We also opened a brand-new SPAR store in Netherfield Road in Nelson in March 2024 to better support the demands of the local community with a comprehensive convenience offer of big-name brands at low prices.’
