We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Charity Golf Day at Nelson Golf Club, which proved to be another fantastic success.
Proudly sponsored by OFX and Singleton Engineering, the event brought together businesses, partners and supporters from across the region for a brilliant day of golf, networking and fundraising, all in support of our work across Burnley and the surrounding areas.
With team places selling out well in advance, the day once again showcased the incredible generosity and community spirit that continues to power Burnley FC in the Community. The weather was kind to us throughout the day, creating the perfect backdrop for a memorable event filled with friendly competition, fundraising and plenty of smiles.
A Fantastic Day on the Course
Teams battled it out in the sunshine across an 18-hole Stableford competition, with a host of exciting prizes up for grabs throughout the day.
One of the most anticipated challenges was our famous Hole-in-One competition, giving golfers the chance to win a Range Rover Evoque, courtesy of Vertu Land Rover Nelson. While the prize remained unclaimed this year, it certainly added an extra level of excitement to proceedings.
There was still plenty to play for, with golfers competing for nearest-the-pin and longest-drive prizes, kindly sponsored by Vertu and Windle & Bowker Accountants.
After an excellent day of golf, congratulations go to the Singleton Engineering team, made up of staff from Warburtons, who were crowned this year’s Charity Golf Day champions.
Over £10,000 Raised for Local Communities
We are delighted to share that, thanks to the incredible support of everyone involved, this year’s event raised more than £10,000.
These vital funds will help us continue delivering programmes and services that support people of all ages across Burnley and the surrounding areas. From health and wellbeing initiatives and education programmes to disability sport, community welfare projects and football development opportunities, the money raised will help us continue creating opportunities and changing lives.
The generosity shown throughout the day was truly inspiring. We’d like to thank everyone who purchased raffle tickets, took part in our silent and live auctions, donated prizes or contributed in any way towards the fundraising efforts.
