We’re proud to announce that Burnley FC in the Community has been awarded Bronze at the Football Business Awards 2025 for Best Corporate Responsibility Scheme!
This prestigious recognition celebrates our “All SySTEMs Go” STEM programme, proudly supported by Safran, Gener8-Healthcare, Restart Interoperable Digital Care, and Michael Bailey Associates.
In 2023, Burnley FC in the Community began planning a STEM initiative to enrich local schools. Recognising the urgent need for STEM education in Burnley, Education Manager Lianne Bradford shared:
“There is an abundance of local STEM businesses craving qualified talent in and around Burnley. The aim is to instil a passion for STEM among children, fostering a pipeline towards lucrative STEM careers.”
Over the past season, the programme has grown bigger and bigger and we’ve had some incredible highlights:
July 2024: We launched our STEM pilot in local primary schools, which was a huge success and paved the way for a wider rollout across Burnley.
October 2024: First Team Men’s Players Zian Flemming, Jeremy Sarmiento, and Vaclav Hladký visited a local school to take part in robot racing and coding activities with students.
December 2024: Volunteers from our STEM partner Safran Nacelles visited Cherry Fold Primary School and Holy Trinity, where children learned about aircraft engineering and the diverse roles within the company.
February 2025: We hosted our Women in STEM Day at Turf Moor, welcoming girls from various schools to hear inspiring talks from Safran Nacelles and GRC Engineering about exciting STEM career paths for women.
April 2025: We proudly opened our brand-new interactive classroom, The STEM Den, generously donated by Gener8. Located at The Leisure Box, this innovative space features fully touch-capable technology to enhance engagement and learning outcomes!
And now, we celebrate our latest milestone—winning Bronze at the Football Business Awards 2025 for Best Corporate Responsibility Scheme. We couldn’t be prouder.
