In early May, Burnley FC in the Community invited local high schools, Burnley High, Fisher More RC High School, Unity College, and Shuttleworth College to be part of their Classic Football Shirts Challenge. Their task was to develop a football business concept, which they would then present to a panel in June, held at Turf Moor.
The students demonstrated remarkable creativity, generating ideas such as a VR Headset for viewing away matches, a ticket swapping website, and a community tournament. Over the past few weeks, Burnley FC in the Community staff had been visiting the schools to assist the students in refining and expanding their business plans.
Last Tuesday marked the eagerly awaited moment when all the groups delivered their pitches before our panel of experts. All of the students were incredibly professional, motivated and brilliant representatives of their schools.
Fisher More RC High School emerged as the winner, impressing the panel with their inclusive match-worn item selling website. Their platform aimed to sell merchandise from various sports leagues, including disability, male, and female leagues, at affordable prices for all. The winning team expressed their delight in receiving a package of goodies from Classic Football Shirts, along with some exciting surprises.
We extend a heartfelt thank you and congratulations to all the participating schools for their involvement, and express gratitude to Classic Football Shirts for supporting this challenge.
