On Friday 13th September, Burnley FC in the Community hosted their fourth annual golf day, raising over £15,000 with all proceeds going towards helping the charity deliver over 50 key community projects!
On the day, 21 teams teed off for a day of golf, with thanks to the generous event sponsorship of Findel Education, Davies Sports and Singleton Engineering, and golf balls donated by Pennine Pneumatic Services.
Plenty of prizes were up for grabs on the day, including the famous ‘hole in one for the chance to win a Range Rover’ (courtesy of Vertu Land Rover in Nelson). Teams battled it out in sunshine over an 18-hole stablefiord competition, but in the end, it was Findel – Davies Sports who were this year’s winners. Huge congratulations!
Despite no one winning the Range Rover, there were plenty of prizes won on the course for ‘nearest the pin’ and ‘longest drive’ competitions, kindly sponsored by TravisMathew and Windle and Bowker Accountants.
After the golf, Burnley FC in the Community’s CEO Helen Gurman welcomed teams and gave an overview of the charity’s work, and the importance of supporting all corners of the community, setting the tone for the silent auction and the raffle.
