Burnley FC in the Community Receive Further Support from Fort Vale Nuclear for their Cancer Rehabilitation Programme

Fort Vale Nuclear are continuing to support a community project close to their heart, Burnley FC in the Community’s Clarets Rise Cancer Rehabilitation Programme.

Clarets Rise, ran in partnership with the NHS East Lancashire Trust and Macmillan Cancer Support, is a safe environment for support and one to one advice for anyone live with or beyond cancer. The group is centered around rehabilitation, information, socialisation, and exercise! During the sessions, there will be a range of healthcare professionals who are able to offer expert advice on topics such as diet, lymphoedema prevention, holistic therapies, and support groups.

Through the support from Fort Vale we are able to further enhance our Clarets Rise sessions through guest speakers, art therapy workshops, yoga/gentle exercise classes and so much more.

Peter Staveley, Managing Director at Fort Vale has said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Burnley FC in the Community, supporting their incredible work in the local communities and beyond. Our collaboration with BFCitC aligns with our core values, of empowering the future generations to meet their full potential, promoting employee health and wellbeing, while fostering a sustainable future.

By partnering with BFCitC, we’re not only supporting our employees but also making a meaningful difference in the wider community.

The success of many of BFCitC’s vital programmes depends on the backing of like-minded organisations, and we are proud to play our part. Supporting these initiatives isn’t just beneficial—it’s the right thing to do.”

We look forward to working with the team over the next twelve months.

Martin Payne, Health and Wellbeing Project Co-Ordinator at Burnley FC in the Community has said “A massive thank you to Fort Vale for their continued support of our Clarets vs Cancer projects. Fort Vale has witnessed first hand the importance of this group and what it offers to people with long term cancer and for those more recently with their diagnosis. Their support will help us to provide valuable support and we are extremely grateful.”
