On Wednesday 20th December, we enjoyed a day of festive fun with visits from Burnley FC players Ameen Al-Dakhil, Hkalmar Ekdal, Charlie Taylor, Lawrence Vigouroux, Dara O’Shea, Josh Cullen, Manuel Benson, and CJ Egan-Riley.
Ameen Al-Dakhil and Hkalmar Ekdal joined us at our “No Nay Never Forget” Dementia session, where they engaged in dominoes, board games, and even had a dance with our participants.
Casterton Primary School welcomed Charlie Taylor, Lawrence Vigouroux, and Dara O’Shea, who competed against our Academy U18 players, Logan Carlin and Benji Wetshi, in a Christmas quiz. The First Team emerged as our winners and generously gifted Casterton Primary School a box full of stationary goodies, which we hope will be put to good use throughout the year.
Logan told us, ‘I really enjoyed visiting Casterton Primary School today, as an Academy player & also a Burnley Fan it is a privilege to appear with the first team and today showed what the club means to the local community’.
Finally, Josh Cullen, Manuel Benson, and CJ Egan-Riley visited Coal Clough Academy to participate in a game of “Who’s More Likely To”.
A huge thank you goes out to all the players, participants, schools, and everyone who played a role in supporting and planning these visits. We hope that it added an extra bit of magic to your Christmas, and we eagerly anticipate more visits in the coming year.
