This month, Burnley FC Women visited local primary schools as part of the Premier League Primary Stars Programme run by Burnley FC in the Community.
Special assemblies were held at St John’s Cliviger, Worsthorne Primary School, St Mary’s Roman Catholic School, St Mary Magdalene’s Roman Catholic Primary School, and Brunshaw Primary School.
The players, including Heidi Logan, Amelia Hazard, Grace Palmer, and goalkeeper Naiosha McAloon, shared their love for the game, how to start a career in professional football, and offered advice to the young students.
For the football-loving girls at St Mary’s, we also organised a session where they could play football with the players, which they absolutely loved.
The Deputy Headteacher said, “Thanks so much for visiting us. The children loved the assembly, and the girls who got to play football were really chuffed.”
A parent commented, “Thank you so much for arranging the player visit. My child loved it and was so inspired that we have bought tickets for the match on Sunday. Please thank the players for giving up their time and coming into school; it really made such an impression.”
