When someone you are close to falls ill or becomes less able to live independently, they will often need someone to help care for them
There are over 42,000 carers in East Lancashire, and it’s estimated that 60% of us will be unpaid carers at some point in our lives.
Providing care to someone you’re close to makes a real difference to their lives, and many of us wouldn’t think twice about caring for someone that needed us.
But caring for someone that relies on you can bring practical and emotional challenges.
Carers Link Lancashire is an independent registered charity that helps support unpaid male carers across East Lancashire.
Their mission is to support unpaid carers and make a positive difference in their lives, so that they are better placed to help the people they care for.
Services that Carers Link Lancashire provide include activities and events for carers, monthly support groups, courses and training for carers and a ‘sitting in’ service for carers that need a short break.
Carers Link Lancashire are here to support all unpaid carers living in Burnley, and Burnley FC in the Community are privileged to work alongside the charity and help where we can.
Burnley FC in the Community help to host group meetings with Carers Link Lancashire on the last Thursday of every month at Burnley Cricket Club.
