Our BFC Women's Juniors are kicking off another exciting weekend of matches!

We'd like to say a big well done to Tiya (U10's), Olivia (U12's) and Amelia (U14's) who were crowned our Players of the Matches last weekend 🏆

We're looking forward to this weekend's fixtures against Barnoldswick, Wilpshire Wonderers, East Leigh Juniors and Preston.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of inviting @burnleyofficial's Mike Trésor and Hannes Delcroix to the @bfcitcfoodbank 🙌

We took the players on a tour of the foodbank and gave them an insight into the extensive support it offers to individuals and families in our community 🤝

BFCitC's Deputy CEO, Michael Colquhoun added "Our thanks go to Mike and Hannes for visiting our foodbank facility. Both players showed a keen interest in our operations and weren’t afraid to help out! Working in partnership with @burnleytogether, our foodbank continues to support the town of Burnley and the players’ support of this is really appreciated".

On Monday, @burnleyofficial players Josh Brownhill

On Monday, @burnleyofficial players Josh Brownhill, Darko Churlinov, and Han-Noah Massengo visited Colne Primet Academy to take part in Burnley FC in the Community's Schools Mental Wellbeing Project.

During the visit, the players shared insights into their own methods for caring for their mental health, including how they unwind during down time and how they cope with the pressures of performing on the pitch.

Senior Mental Wellbeing Worker, Regan Kelly told us "It was fantastic to be able to take the players into one of our local schools and get them involved in our Schools Mental Wellbeing Project. The players had some really valuable advice on mental wellbeing and it was a brilliant opportunity for them to pass it onto the students".

November Round Up - Veterans Edition 👏🏻

On the 4th November, Our Veterans Department began the lead up to Remembrance day by attending the annual pitch parade in co-ordination with the RBL and Burnley Football Club . Followed by our second fixture of the North West Military Veterans League against Foundation 92 on the Sunday.

Throughout the week, our Veterans and @PLPS Education Department teamed up to deliver the ‘Importance of the Poppy’, Military careers and real life experiences across 5 local Primary Schools, one Secondary School and to our @PLCF Kicks participants. We engaged with over 500 young people in Burnley and Rossendale.

To end the working week, we were invited to Blessed Trinity RC College for their first Remembrance afternoon tea event. Here we gathered with lots of other Military Organisations, Burnley’s MP and other local Veterans to watch their choir, teacher and pupil band and to hear personally written prayers.

In the evening, BFCitC MV football team played against Healthier Heroes at the Prairie Sports Village for our annual remembrance friendly. We mixed up both Burnley teams and enjoyed a light-hearted friendly before gathering for a quick coffee before returning home.

On Remembrance day, our Veterans split up to attend both Burnley Town Centre parade and Towneley services to lay a wreath on behalf of BFCitC.

In early 2023, we were awarded Gold for the North West Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. On Thursday 16th November, we attend the awards evening to receive our certificate that proudly presents that Burnley FC in the Community support employment for Reservists, Veterans and Cadets.

Our Veterans Project Co-Ordinator, Daniella said, “It’s been our biggest and busiest Remembrance yet and we wanted to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to all involved over the last few weeks and we aim for next year to be even better”.

On Tuesday 21st November, Participants from Burnley FC in the Community joined more than 120 young people representing clubs from across the Premier League and English Football League at a special 'Protect the Planet' event. 21st November. This event was part of the Premier League’s commitment to empowering young people to take positive action around climate change.

Funded by the Premier League and #iwill Fund, and delivered by the Premier League Charitable Fund through the national Premier League Kicks, Premier League Primary Stars, and Premier League Inspires programmes, the event saw nine-to-13-year-olds from 25 professional football clubs coming together to tackle environmental sustainability at their football clubs and in their communities. 🙌

The event was held at Liverpool’s Anfield stadium, allowing young people to take part in an exhibition of their youth social action projects devised to protect the planet. 🌎
