Volunteers’ Week is a UK-wide annual campaign, held from the first Monday in June, to celebrate and recognise the incredible contributions of volunteers.
This year, to show our appreciation, we’ve been out and about visiting our amazing volunteers and delivering their brand-new volunteer jackets.
Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.
People like Susan and Les generously give their time to our Health and Wellbeing programmes, supporting senior participants during our Extra Time and No Nay Never Forget sessions.
Hannah and Wayne volunteer at our foodbank, working tirelessly to pack parcels and ensure local families have access to the food they need.
And then there’s Don, who volunteers at Whitehough Outdoor Centre — always ready to roll up his sleeves for painting, decorating, and anything else needed to keep Whitehough looking its best.
As part of our celebrations, we’ve taken them on a special tour of Turf Moor, provided a range of training opportunities, and made every effort to show just how valued they are. Our volunteers play a vital role in the work we do, and their impact on the local community is truly inspiring.
Don, who volunteers at Whitehough Outdoor Centre told us “I love being a part of the charity and seeing the impact that my volunteering has up here at Whitehough. The little things, like having our own volunteer jackets, really make us feel valued and a part of something really special.”
Burnley FC in the Community supports over 32,000 people every year — and this incredible impact wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our volunteers.
