Education activations

Burnley FC in the Community’s Education Activations project is about raising awareness, developing understanding, inspiring and engaging pupils learning within PSHE, English or Maths.

These sessions are stand alone activities that can be delivered as assemblies’ or class-based workshops.

Example of topics we have recently covered include: No Room for Racism, Rainbow Laces, Black History Month, International Women’s Day, World Book Day, Climate Change, Mental Wellbeing and Healthy Lifestyle.

For International Women’s Week we took our Head of Women’s Football, Lola Ogunbote to St Joseph’s Barnoldswick to deliver an assembly on Women in Sport.

Lola and our fantastic team spoke to the children about the power of women in sport and how they can achieve anything they put their minds too!

For Show Racism the Red Card we welcomed the team from ‘Show Racism the Red Card’, who spent the day at Turf Moor with year five and year six students from Cherry Fold Community Primary, St Peter’s C of E Primary and St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School, delivering a variety of activities on the causes and the consequences of racism.

During the workshops, the young people also received a special appearance from Burnley FC Captain, Jack Cork, first team player CJ Egan Riley, and Manager for Burnley FC Women’s team, Jonathon Morgan!
