EXTRA TIME
(OVER 50'S)

Our ‘Extra Time’ programmes are dedicated to those aged over 50 and are a great opportunity to socialise, meeting new friends and engage in a range of activities!

Our Sessions

We have five sessions per week:

Extra Time – Burnley Cricket Club
Wednesdays 10am – 12pm

Extra Time Active, The Leisure Box, Brierfield
Fridays – 10am – 12pm

Extra Time Accrington, New Era Complex 
Mondays – 1pm – 3pm (MEN ONLY)

Extra Time (Dementia-friendly), Salvation Army, Clitheroe
Thursday 10am – 12pm

Turf Talk – Jimmy McIlroy Stand, Turf Moor
Thursdays – 1pm – 3pm

Extra Time (Over 50's)

Our award winning Extra Time programme helps tackle issues such as loneliness and social isolation amongst our community’s senior citizens.

The aims of Extra Time is to provide a range of activities that willincrease social engagement, participation in physical activity and workshops that highlight key areas to improve the overall health and wellbeing of the individuals.

We run ‘Extra Time’ sessions twice a week:

Mondays – Accrington – (MEN ONLY) 12.30pm – 2.30pm

New Era Centre (The Hub) Paradise Street, Accrington, BB5 1PB.

£2.00 per session. Pool, Dominoes, Card games, Social, Tea, Coffee, Biscuits.

Wednesdays – Burnley Cricket Club – 10am – 12pm

Sessions are free of charge, but voluntary donations are welcome! Here we provide a variety of activities for senior citizens 50 years old plus.

Extra Time Active

Every Friday – The Leisure Box – 10am-12pm

Extra-Time active is aimed at Over 50s who want to engage in a wide-range of activities, located at The Leisure Box every Friday, 10am-12pm.

If you are over 50 and looking to keep fit and active, then this group is perfect for you.

Sessions are £4 each and offer the following:

  • Indoor short mat bowling
  • Table Tennis
  • Short Tennis
  • Badminton
  • Gym work
  • Walking Football
