Extra time
(over 50's)

Our ‘Extra Time’ programmes are dedicated to those aged over 50 and are a great opportunity to socialise, meeting new friends and engage in a range of activities!

We have four types of sessions:

  • Extra Time 
  • Extra Time Active
  • Turf Talk 
  • Try Bowls

Extra Time

Our award winning Extra Time programme helps tackle issues such as loneliness and social isolation amongst our community’s senior citizens.

The aim of Extra Time is to provide a range of activities for senior citizens 50+ that will increase social engagement, participation in physical activity and workshops that highlight key areas to improve the overall health and wellbeing of the individuals.

Sessions are free of charge, but voluntary donations are welcome!

Mondays (Men Only):

New Era Centre, Accrington, 12:30pm – 2:30pm

Wednesdays:

Burnley Cricket Club, 10am – 12pm

Thursdays (Dementia-Friendly):

Salvation Army, Clitheroe,10am – 12pm

Extra Time Active

Extra-Time active offers a wide range of physical activities for anyone over 50 who is looking to keep fit and active!

Sessions are £2 each and offer the following:

  • Indoor Short Mat Bowling
  • Table Tennis
  • Short Tennis
  • Badminton
  • Gym Work
  • Walking Football
 
Fridays:

The Leisure Box ,10am-12pm

 

 

 

TURF TALK

Turf Talk is all about having a brew and telling stories about Burnley FC past and present. 

Our Turf Talk group have visited Barnfield Training Ground, Burnley Archives and taken a full tour of Turf Moor. They’ve also met with Club Store Manager, Deputy Head Groundsman and Transport Manager!

Thursdays:

Turf Moor, 1pm-3pm

TRY BOWLS

Our free try bowls session takes place every week and is a great opportunity for anyone over the age of 50 can come along and play bowls for free.

Thursdays:

Ighten Hill Bowls Club, 10am-12pm
