FA GIRLS EMERGING TALENT CENTRE
After the success of the 2022 Euros, the Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) gives more girls than ever the chance to take their first steps towards playing professional football.
The Emerging Talent Centres provide greater accessibility to the player pathway and more inclusivity for female players to enhance player development
Our centre is underpinned by five key areas:
- Better accessibility
- More inclusivity
- Reducing the impact of early selection
- More focused investment
- Providing more appropriate challenges
The Emerging Talent Centres identify and develop future potential players by providing local, accessible a high-quality training environment. The Centres offer increased playing time, varied football formats and allow players to play for both an ETC and a grassroots club, school, or representative team, to enhance the variety of playing experience.
Our ETC players have the opportunity to access:
- Technical coaching
- A strength and conditioning coach
- Testing and workshops around physical, education and lifestyle development
- Facilitate stretch and challenge opportunities for high performing players
- Physio appointments
- FA Technical / physical framework
- Small format games programme available to boys teams / other ETCs
Our Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) is aimed at girls aged 8 to 16 and operates for at least 30 weeks per season.
The programme is designed to be a central hub for selected female players from Burnley and the surrounding areas.
The Emerging Talent Centre works with selected players and their clubs/schools to increase participation and identify female players with the potential to progress further.
After completing a trial and enrolling on the ETC, the programme has one session per week which includes 1.5 Hours of technical training to each age group, for 30 weeks.
Participants will play a minimum of one game every six weeks. This will include exposure to a variety of playing formats and experiences.
To be part of the Burnley FA Emerging Talent Centre, female players must secure their place through a trial process.
You can register for your trials here.
