Celebrating International Women’s Day 2026 at Hapton Primary
We were incredibly proud to welcome Burnley FC Women’s players Heidi Logan and Millie Chandarana to Hapton Primary School for a powerful celebration of International Women’s Day 2026 – a year shaped by the global call to Accelerate ACTION.
The visit formed part of our ongoing work through the Premier League Primary Stars programme, which uses the power of football to inspire children, boost activity, teamwork, and life skills.
The morning began with a whole-school assembly where children explored the meaning behind International Women’s Day and reflected on this year’s priorities: accelerating progress towards gender equality, challenging stereotypes, and helping every girl feel confident in her potential both on and off the pitch.
Inspiring Journeys from the Pitch
Heidi and Millie shared their personal paths into football, speaking openly about resilience, self-belief, and the determination needed to pursue their goals. Their honesty sparked genuine excitement among pupils, who asked thoughtful questions about ambitions, setbacks, and what drives them forward.
Empowering Girls Through Play
Following the assembly, the inspiration continued outside as a group of girls took part in a practical session led by the players. Skills developed, confidence grew, and teamwork shone through – a perfect reflection of the Premier League Primary Stars vision to help children believe that “anything is possible.”

One teacher captured the moment perfectly, saying:
“Having Heidi and Millie visit our school was absolutely incredible. The children were completely captivated. Seeing strong, successful women in football made their ambitions feel real and reachable. It’s a day they will remember for a very long time.”
