Jamaal Sajid named BFCitC’s Community Captain

On Monday 20th February, Burnley FC in the Community and the Premier League unveiled a surprise mural of their 23/24 Community Captain, Jamaal Sajid at The Leisure Box.

Jamaal joined Premier League Kicks several years ago, initially as a participant seeking fun and new friendships. Over time, he became deeply involved in Premier League Kicks, Clarets Youth Board, and NCS programs.

Jamaal has made a significant impact on our community and the Youth Engagement Department at Burnley FC in the Community. He has contributed numerous ideas for educational workshops, proposed new sports for our line up, and consistently encouraged friends and college peers to participate in our sessions, ensuring everyone benefits from our offerings.

To express gratitude for his dedication, Burnley FC in the Community collaborated with the Premier League to create this mural as a surprise for Jamaal. On the day of the unveiling, Jamaal’s family, teachers from Nelson and Colne College, the Imam from Jamaal’s local mosque, and key figures from our local community gathered to celebrate his achievements.

The surprises continued as Jay Rodriguez and Josh Cullen joined us to present Jamaal with the Community Captain award. Josh t:old us:

“It’s been a pleasure to come down today, to give him a little surprise and give him the reward for all the hard work he’s done in the community”.

We extend heartfelt thanks to Premier League Communities for enabling us to bring this project to life and provide Jamaal with an unforgettable day.

We are immensely proud of all your accomplishments, Jamaal. Thank you, and we eagerly anticipate witnessing your continued journey with the charity.
