Burnley FC in the Community is proud to announce Enable U2 as the new main sponsor of its Adult Disability Football Team, which launches in June, marking an exciting partnership that will further strengthen opportunities for inclusive sport across East Lancashire.
Enable U2, a specialist day service supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism, joins the Clarets’ official charity in a collaboration rooted in shared values of inclusion, empowerment, and community engagement. The partnership reflects both organisations’ commitment to ensuring people of all abilities have the opportunity to take part in football, build confidence, and enjoy the benefits of being part of a team.
Supporting the Adult Disability Football Programme
The Adult Disability Football Programme at Burnley FC in the Community provides a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where individuals with disabilities can develop their football skills while also improving physical health, social interaction, teamwork, and self-esteem. The new sponsorship will play a key role in supporting the continued growth and development of the programme.
A Shared Commitment to Inclusion
Enable U2 has built a strong reputation for delivering person-centred support, helping adults with learning disabilities and autism lead fulfilling, active, and independent lives. Supporting adult disability football is a natural extension of the organisation’s dedication to community participation and wellbeing.
John McBeth, spokesperson for Enable U2, said:
“ Having been a involved with BFCitC and seen the excellent work that they do for several years now, we are incredibly proud to become the main sponsor of the Burnley FC in the Community Adult Disability Football Team.
Football has the power to bring people together, inspire confidence, and create unforgettable moments. At Enable U2, we believe everybody should have the opportunity to be involved, feel valued, and achieve their full potential.
The players, coaches, and staff involved with the disability football programme are truly inspirational, and we are honoured to support such an important part of our community and to be able to support people with the opportunities this will bring”
The collaboration aims not only to strengthen the existing programme but also to raise awareness of the importance of inclusive sport and encourage more individuals with learning disabilities and autism to get involved in football and community activities.
Both organisations hope the partnership will inspire increased participation, create new pathways into sport, and continue breaking down barriers to ensure football is accessible to everyone.
