Last week, we were delighted to have the opportunity to take the Premier League trophy into Holy Trinity Primary and St Mary’s Sabden, two of our Premier League Primary Stars partner schools. The event was a resounding success, filled with excitement and awe from both students and staff.
The children received presentation on the Premier League’s rich history and core values. This presentation aimed to inspire the students to incorporate these values into their everyday lives. It was not just about football but also about sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance—qualities that are essential both on and off the pitch.
The Premier League representatives shared stories and facts, enriching the children’s understanding of the league’s impact and importance. The students learned about the league’s commitment to community and education, highlighting how sports can be a powerful tool for positive change.
Gabriella, a Year 6 pupil, was thrilled with the experience, saying, “I never thought I would have the chance to see and stand next to the real Premier League trophy.”
Her enthusiasm was echoed by Peter, another Year 6 student, summed up the day perfectly: “It was a magnificent experience; the trophy looked beautiful! I am absolutely amazed to be stood next to it.”
Lianne Bradford, our Education Manager, reflected on the event: “It was amazing to bring the Premier League Trophy to two of our brilliant partner schools. We had representatives from the Premier League who answered a few questions and delivered an insightful presentation on what the Premier League stands for. The children were engaged throughout, and we hope they can aspire to incorporate the Premier League’s values into their future lives.”
Holy Trinity Primary School and St Mary’s Sabden Primary School are both proud to be a part of the Premier League Primary Stars programme, which uses the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to inspire children to learn, be active, and develop important life skills. This visit was a testament to the programme’s success in bringing unique opportunities to young learners.
We look forward to many more such enriching experiences and hope to continue inspiring the next generation with the values that the Premier League embodies.
