On Saturday 22nd April, Burnley FC in the Community took over the Burnley vs QPR fixture, hosting a day of family fun and entertainment whilst raising a record-breaking amount of over £7,000.
We were joined by so many children and families who visited our face painting station, made huge bubbles with the help of record-breaking bubble artist, Ray Bubbles, and braved our climbing wall.
We also opened up a Sensory Room for families to come and watch the match whilst getting involved in a variety of sensory activities.

We were excited to welcomed our VIP Mascot Prize Winners, Oliver and Elliot, to Turf Moor on Saturday. They got to meet their favourite players and walk out onto the pitch alongside the other nine mascots who were participants from across all our different provisions, including the BFC Women’s Juniors and our Activity Camps.
The Titans U11’s Team then joined us for our penalty shoutout at half-time where they showed off their skills on the pitch and even scored a goal against Bertie Bee!

During the lead up to Community Day, we ran a competition for primary school children across the local area, giving them the opportunity to design the matchday programme cover for the match.
The winner was chosen by Burnley FC First Team Player, Josh Cullen, who chose Rowan Bradford from St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Primary School, Padiham. We were delighted to have Rowan join us for the match and to show him his programme cover in real life!

As part of the day, we were also delighted to share with Burnley FC Fans, new videos of our wonderful participants. One of these videos is of our brilliant ‘No Nay Never Forget’ Dementia Group participant Steve…
We would like to say a huge thank you to all the members of our community for getting involved and for their generosity, we’re incredibly grateful for your support and we hope you had a fantastic time spending the day with us!
