Burnley FC in the Community’s BFC Women Juniors U12 Girls capped off an outstanding season in style, lifting the Lancashire County Cup to complete a remarkable treble-winning campaign!
The achievement not only celebrates a special season for the squad, but also reflects the continued growth and success of the women’s and girls’ pathway at Burnley Football Club.
A Season Built on Hard Work and Development
Reaching the County Cup final was already a major milestone for the young Clarets, following a season defined by commitment, consistency and continuous improvement. Across the campaign, the group demonstrated a strong desire to learn, develop and challenge themselves, earning their place among the county’s top teams.
A Game Of Two Halves
In the final, the U12s faced a strong CN Sports side in a high-tempo encounter that tested both teams from the opening whistle. Burnley’s girls showed impressive composure on the ball, confidently building play through midfield and creating opportunities in attacking areas.
The first half was closely contested and finished level at 1–1, setting the stage for a decisive second period.
The Clarets emerged after the break with real intent and energy. Their pressing became more effective, control in key areas improved, and within five minutes they struck twice. Both goals came from well-worked team moves, highlighting the group’s growing confidence, understanding and quality in possession.
From there, the team managed the game superbly, remaining defensively disciplined while continuing to threaten going forward. Their teamwork, communication and resilience were evident throughout, underlining the progress made across the season.
A Reward for Their Commitment All Season
Bethany Moss, Senior Female Football Development Coach at Burnley FC in the Community, who has worked closely with the squad throughout the campaign, praised both the players and their journey:
