For many people leaving the Armed Forces, one of the things they miss most is the camaraderie. The friendly banter, shared experiences and sense of belonging that comes from military life can be difficult to find elsewhere.
Veterans Bowls and Brews offers a friendly and welcoming space where you can connect with other veterans, enjoy a game of bowls and catch up over a brew. Whether you’re looking to meet new people, stay connected to your local Armed Forces community or simply enjoy some good company, you’ll be among people who share a military background.
Whether you’re a seasoned bowler or have never picked up a bowl before, everyone aged 18 and over is welcome. In a relaxed and supportive environment, you can enjoy a game of bowls, share stories, have a laugh and build new friendships.
If bowling isn’t for you, you’re still welcome to come along for a brew, a chat and the opportunity to connect with fellow veterans.
As well as providing opportunities to socialise, sessions regularly welcome guests from charities and organisations that support the Armed Forces community. Representatives from services such as the Veterans Welfare Service and Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust often attend to offer information, advice and support.
Whether you’re looking to support your wellbeing, learn more about local services or simply spend time with fellow veterans, Veterans Bowls and Brews offers a place where you’ll always receive a warm welcome.
Our sessions are mobility and dementia friendly, and we recommend wearing comfortable trainers with suitable grip if you plan to take part in bowls.
